Upcycling project with National theater.

Throwback to 2016 when The Twirl Timepiece was still in the creating process, we heard from National Theater & Concert Hall (NTCH) that after 30 years of use, they planned to renovate the stage floor of the performing hall. For KIMU, every object carries their own memories and meanings through the interactions with the users. So we decided to be up for the challenge, reusing the demolished materials in our product to preserve those precious memories and continue their life journeys.
The concept of KIMU Twirl Timepiece is exactly the same as that of the stage for artists, so we changed the original material and size to customize a special edition, dedicated to those who have memories with the stage.
However, the demolition is way more difficult than what we have expected, not only the molds but also the machines are damaged, as a result, each piece is very precious since the amount of the final production is difficult to estimate and is very small.
KIMU appreciates NTCH’s for believing in us.
Without their support, we won’t make it.
